Our Approach…
At Moss House, every project follows a clear, structured process. It means you always know what to expect, and every detail is thoughtfully considered from start to finish.
1. Consultation & Design
Every journey begins with our design stage. This is where we take the time to understand your needs, measure your space, and create a tailored design that works both practically and aesthetically.
As part of this stage you’ll receive:
A detailed consultation and site survey
Tailored layouts and design concepts
High-quality 3D visuals so you can picture the finished result
Mood boards and material selections (simple samples included; intricate or custom-made samples available at an additional agreed cost)
Itemised cost estimate and timeline
Design fees start from £350 for single items (such as a fitted wardrobe) and from £650 for larger spaces such as kitchens. This fee is fully redeemable against your project cost if you proceed.
We believe charging for design is the best way to give your project the attention it deserves — it ensures accuracy, avoids surprises, and allows you to make informed decisions with clarity.
2. The Making
Once the design is agreed, your project moves into our workshop. This is where concept becomes reality.
Traditional craft & modern precision – we use a mix of time-honoured joinery techniques and modern technology to achieve the highest standards.
Hand-selected materials – every board and veneer is chosen for quality, grain, and consistency, ensuring your piece looks and feels exceptional.
Attention to detail – from hand-finishing surfaces to testing joinery, each stage is carefully checked before it leaves the workshop.
Transparency – we’ll keep you updated on progress, so you know where your project is in the making journey.
This stage is about bringing artistry and accuracy together — ensuring the finished piece reflects the design exactly.
3. Installation
The final stage is fitting your furniture into its new home. We treat installation with the same precision as the design and production stages.
Careful scheduling – we agree dates with you in advance and work around your home life to minimise disruption.
On-site craftsmanship – our team handles scribing, fitting, and finishing to make sure everything looks seamless in your space.
Clean and considerate – we protect floors and surfaces, tidy as we go, and leave your home exactly as we found it.
Final checks – before signing off, we go through every detail with you to make sure the installation is perfect and you’re completely happy.
This is where all the planning pays off — a smooth installation, a flawless finish, and a piece that feels like it was always meant to be there.
Why We Work This Way
Some companies skip the design stage or offer it “for free” usually as a quick sales drawing. We take a different approach. By treating design, production, and installation as equal parts of the process, we ensure every project is thoughtful, accurate, and beautifully made from start to finish.
-
This depends on the scale of your project, but most designs are completed within 2–4 weeks. We’ll give you a clear timeframe at the start and keep you updated throughout.
-
Your project moves into our workshop, where we handcraft every element using a mix of traditional joinery techniques and modern precision. We’ll confirm a production schedule with you and agree installation dates in advance.
-
Installation time varies by project, but most fitted pieces are completed within 1–3 days. Larger or more complex projects, such as kitchens, may take longer. We’ll provide a clear schedule before work begins.
-
Minor adjustments can usually be accommodated, but major changes may require additional design time or costs. We’ll always be transparent with you before moving forward.
-
That’s completely fine — you’ll still own the drawings, visuals, and specifications we’ve created. Many clients find this invaluable, even if they choose not to proceed to the making stage.
